Note Indicator 7.10 to monitor the Millennium Development Goal Target 7.D is: by 2020 to have achieved a significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum-dwellers. Slum population is defined as the urban population living in dwellings with at least one of these four characteristics: lack of access to improved drinking water, lack of access to improved sanitation, overcrowding (three or more persons per room) and dwellings made of nondurable material. Half of pit latrines are considered improved sanitation. Trends data are not available for Oceania
